Burlotto, Barolo Monvigliero, 2015 SO041126 Salvo Foti From one of Napa Valley’sMonvigliero is Verduno's greatest vineyard and Burlotto's crown jewel, made the most traditional way: whole clusters foot crushed, a 60 day maceration on the skins, and long aging in large Slavonian botti. The whole cluster fermentation amplifies the cru's spicy, herbal, floral signature. The 2015 was a warm, generous vintage, so this shows riper fruit and a rounder, more open profile, approachable now while built to reward years in the cellar. One of
