The Aqua Medic midiflotor is an air-driven counter-current internal protein skimmer designed for aquariums with a capacity of up to 400 liters. It features a unique double reaction pipe that makes it an effective counter-flow skimmer. Air bubbles ascend within the inner pipe, and similar to an air lift, they carry a significant amount of water along with them. This water is then directed downward through the outer pipe. The air bubbles travel with the water stream until they reach the expansion cone, where they reverse direction and rise in the counter-current. This design results in a notably extended detention time for the bubbles in the water. Additionally, it comes equipped with a lime wood air diffuser that generates very fine air bubbles. There is also a holding plate that accommodates a redox electrode. For optimal air supply, we recommend using the Mistral 300 membrane air pump (sold separately).
